dave stumbled upon this on google from craigslist. pretty funny stuff. people who takew time to do this type of thing are pathetic to me. read on and read my response. whats up with the cat? now that is art
I call "Bullshit!" on the "Are You Bohemian?" post.
I may not be Bohemian, but i know Bohemian. And these people are no fucking Bohemians. They're trend peddlers trying to sell a manicured "Bohemian look" and lifestyle to the fashionably rich hipsters with enough disposable income to shell out $190 for a "poly blazer with hand burned stripes" or a ripped t-shirt with hand drawn skulls for $125 so that they wear something "edgy" to the clubs. If the Bohemian's i know had that kind of money it would be spent on art supplies, some pot and pack of instant noodles.
Still don't think these people are fakers? Read their Bohemian Society Decree:
"Our Decree: In order to start a new society one must have a new
philosophy, one founded on the principles of hedonism; showboating,
sex, and love infused with the spirit of bank robbery. Life is what you
make it and baby we make it night and day. Shining brighter than the
sun Bohemians always have more fun.
So run, run, run, take a drag or two, you know how we do.
Want to join a new, society?
Then follow us.
I lust we trust and liberty is a must.
Join us and pledge allegiance to sublime"
wow. to sublime, indeed. after i read that and finished laughing my ass off, i wikipedia'd Bohemian. here's what it said:
"Bohemians are inhabitants of Bohemia, Czech Republic. [never heard of the place - must be an actual a secret society.]
"In modern usage, a bohemian can describe any person who lives an unconventional artistic life, where self-expression is the highest value - that art (acting, poetry, writing, singing, dancing, painting etc) is a serious and main focus of their life."
See - that sounds like the Bohemians i know - dedicated artists eeking out a meagre existence in order make their art a priorty. everything else is secondary - including the what they wear. These comercialists are aren't about boundry breaking art or self-expression, they're mainstream capitalists in gypsiies clothing, selling a lifestyle they obviously don't care about, understand or believe in.
In short: BOOOOooooo!
ART Rules!
from me:
boy you must have a bunch of time on your hands to be analyzing people
you dont know. stop hating. if you were a bohemian you really wouldnt
care what we do. and we go by the true meaning of bohemian which is
some one who doesnt follow the rules of society. if you think im some
rich hipster poser, come visit my studio some time and see for
yourself. i suggest you think before you go ripping down something that
i have worked and fought so long and hard for while you are home
scribbling cats and collecting ssi. art is subjective . whoever you
are, and if you think what i do is not art. your not an artist.
nice cat.

Living the Dream
Payam Imani
Late last night I found myself in the midst of a typical night at the Bohemian Society's HQ. Lights, music, booze, guns and models adorned the eclectic downtown LA rooftop suite; and I was helping with the photo-shoot for the new Boho look book. It was around 1:30am when I had yet another reality check that I was in fact, "living the dream". At this time on the moonlit rooftop I was talking to my friend Ren about living in Iowa. Ren (who was walking around filming the event) was shocked when he realized I was returning to Iowa in August, and for the first time... I was too. When I think of the year to come at ISU, I cant help but be anxious to go back! I'm going to live in the perfect party house with my tight-knit crew. I get to tailgate the football games once again, and the girls... I love the midwestern girls! However, from where I stand now, I struggle to imagine leaving LA. Could I really give up the exclusive parties downtown, the thrill of hustling in the fashion industry, the temptation of the Hollywood machine, the gorgeous weather, the cozy beaches, the epic sunsets, and the models... I love LA models! I've been here in LA for a month now and it's safe to say that I have found a place here. Every single day is truly an adventure and every single day I grow volumes from the day before. I am 19 years old and I am living the fucking LA dream. How can I leave? Well, while this may go through my mind from time to time I never hesitate to respond when someone asks if I'd consider just staying in LA. The answer will always be hell f*ng no!
You see, there is a spirit that you can only find in the Midwest and back home at ISU I have a life that I would trade with no one, period. Yes, I am living the California dream, but it's not my dream, not yet at least. I have too much unfinished business in the Midwest, and too many people who care about me. So, for now, I dream of cheap beer pong and chilly tailgates, campanelling and stumbling for super dogs at 3am. Most of all I miss my friends, from the closest crew to the people I get used to bumping into everyday. Like it or not we are family in Iowa! So, I say to everyone who dreams of leaving Iowa and has plans, like I do, to graduate and hit the road. Look forward to coming home in the fall and do your best to set it off when you get there. In the meantime, LIVE IT UP this summer wherever you are and make some headlines for shits sake, so we'll have something to talk about in between classes. ISU, I'll see you soon! I'm off to the beach!

A POST BY D. P. METZ
That's right scum! Bow before the true saint of liberation, St. Kalashnikov.
Not sure who made him a saint, but who can argue?
The Russians are currently erecting a catherdral to St. Mikhail, which you can see under construction below. Not sure when it will be finished, but I hear they will be handing out free AK's to the first 100,000 visitors.
Drawing of how the
Cathedral St. Mikhail will look

Maiden of Kazan Church are
visible against the background.
Temporary belfry is behind the
billboard.
