My life as a commercial

So Bank of America is currently running a TV spot where a "silver man" travels around an unnamed city buying a silver tie and sunglasses with his check card. He sets up to do his living statue gig and the spot ends with him springing to life to greet a young admirer/customer. The spot is called "keep the change." Funny how times change. If I was still performing in the streets I would be out there right now in silver in front of a Bank of America waiving my protest sign (as I did when Saturday night live did a parody of The Mercury Mens performance) and ultimately be arrested. It is funny how we eventually  become everything we have always hated. I am now the president of a multinational corporation. Small as it may be and it is also my company, it has been incorporated with trustees, partners, investors I have to answer too etc. The difference is my corporation is controlled by me and has a little more originality and soul than a bank. It was really strange though to see my old life made into a commercial. When I was out in the street people did react to me like they do in the commercial and the guy kinds moves like I did. The difference here is I never wore sunglasses and could not blink for up to a half an hour or more. But myself and John(http://www.fistswithyourtoes.blog.com) are the real "silver men"  and I would expect no more from a half baked commercial for a bank. I also didn't have a bank in those days because I didn't trust them and I still do not but, now my bank is bank of America.  Keep the change.VW

Tuesday I got to see Laz which was pretty great and then there was the best photobooth ever at Check Yo'. A booth with toilets...and graffiti walls...and therefore, gnarly antics ensued. The Bohemian Society adorned us with some killer clothes and Polite in Public snapped away. I've never had so much ridiculous fun in an open photobooth...with a gold toilet. Strangely, it was definitely the highlight of my night.

Okay people, so here is the deal. My name is Neko (It’s really Demetria but I call the shots!) and I am Victor’s assistant. Our, oh so great, leader has asked me to keep up a blog for all you. So…you’re stuck with me.

This Tuesday Feb 20th the Bohemian Society and Polite in Public will be hosting a photo shoot at Safari Sam’s located on 5214 Sunset Blvd. What does this have to do you with you, my freaky darlings? YOU are the models. Yeah you read that correctly.

Not interested in the shoot? Then come for the performances by Roxy Cottontail in her first L.A live show. Also appearances by DJ Franki Chan and DJ Paparazzi as well as photos by Shadowscene, and the  Heartschallenger Ice cream Truck. You guys don’t want to miss this. All ages are welcomed. 5 bucks a pop for 21 and over, 10 bucks for you young’ns under 21. So for once it pays to be a geezer. Doors open at 8:00 pm.

Lame report I know but deal. Depending on the head honcho you’ll be seeing a lot more of me, or reading a lot more of my reporting (heh). Anyway stay tuned my freaky darlings because this is the place to find out about the gigs, parties and whatever else we give you. Smooches!

Later that night some chick from Mexico city pulled some "magic chocolate" out  of her fukin brand new porsche suv for me and I had to rush home to watch The Holy Mountain before I  melted. THE LAST HIPPIE

This is an IM exchange  between myself and the man I call "The last Hippie" along with some vintage photos sent to me by him. Son of a garbage man from Brooklyn TLH has been around the block and then some. He used to hang with The Grateful Dead and toured with Bob Dylan. He was apparently propositioned by Janis Joplin. He was involved with the Krilian Device and got in trouble with the CIA. This device takes pictures of auras and TLH took it upon himself to photograph his penis with it. He was Salvador Dali's personal chauffeur in the 80's and sold coke to the original cast of Saturday Night Live. He used to drive a hearse limo around the village and pick up people like The Rolling Stones.He has a TON(literally I have seen it, you couldn't walk through his old apartment without it falling on your head) of memorabilia and art that he has collected personally from the likes of Andy Warhol, Dali, Elvis, President Reagan,Keith Haring, etc.  TLH has been a recurring character on my old cable access show in NYC and is a personal friend to the Prince of Orange. He requested I don't use his real name for reasons you will read about. Here's to you TLH.  Keep on truckin. VW
